A great place to enjoy the sun and sea; to relax and marvel at the beautiful sunset; to savour the best of Corfiot cuisine accompanied by a glass of local wine and traditional Greek music…
Since 1985 Han and her family have been welcoming guests to Zambeta Apartments in Arillas, Corfu. The management has now been taken over by Han’s son, Alex, with the help of his wife, Christina and her sister, Daizy. It is a great place to enjoy the sun and sea; to relax and marvel at the beautiful sunset; to savour the best of Corfiot cuisine accompanied by a glass of local wine and traditional Greek music. In fact, a perfect place with lovely accommodation where you can unwind and discover the real Corfu. You can also enjoy walking in beautiful surroundings; take a drive through breathtaking scenery; or visit Corfu Town, the historic and picturesque capital of the island. Or you can meditate or enjoy a private session by one of the many session givers around Arillas.
Zambeta Apartments is really a place to relax! It’s a 3 minute walk to the center of Arillas and the beach, but it’s really quiet. All apartments are very big for greek standards and have a balcony with a view towards the sea and the jungle-like garden!
The first impression is that you have come home! The apartment is stacked with everything you might need to start off your holiday, ranging from a bottle of cold water, salt and pepper, oil and vinegar, sugar and coffee to candles, mosquito repellant and even an electric mosquito killing racket!
Your hosts, Green Corfu’s Alex and Christina, together with Alex’s mother, Han, are always eager to help you with advice on almost any issue.
Arillas is, according to many of our visitors, “the best place on Corfu” and according to others “the best place in the world”! But let’s stick to facts for now….
Arillas Bay lies in the north-western corner of Corfu and is flanked to the north by Cape Kavo Kefali and to the south by Cape Arillas (Porto Timone). It has a long, sandy beach flanked by cliffs offering a unique sense of privacy. The sand of Arillas beach is fine and perfect for building castles and making sand sculptures. Many of the beach visitors create ephemeral works of art with sand, stones, driftwood and whatever else they find on the beach.
People have been coming to Arillas to meditate for more than 40 years. Already in the eighties, young people in orange clothes (sannyasins) would walk around the village and practice meditation and naturism at the far end of the beach. Around that time, the first meditation centres were established in Arillas, Alexis Zorbas and Ouranos Club.
